Fashion Week: Model Life

For years models have been nothing more than hangers for designer clothing.  Seen within the antique pages of Vogue models were stick straight, short hair, and no personality.  Within the last ten years the life of a model has changed drastically.  Models have become celeberties such as: Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Heidi Klum, and Tyra Banks.  Models lives are documented on all sorts of social media and mentioned nonstop through society.  Fashion Week has become an event that has become a travel destination.  The dream of a runway model is to walk for Chanel, Moschino, Louis Vuitton, and Tommy Hilfiger.  The thrill of a models life is just getting started and the travel destinations are endless.

Fashion Week: Diane Von Furstenburg

This season feels bigger and better then ever. I say it every year, but this time I mean it.  This season is the year of new beginnings.  Diane Von Furstenberg's collection is all about being happy and independent with the beautiful pinks and oranges.  What I adore about her company is that she dresses a women to be strong, but feminine. Most  company's will put their women in a pant suit and call her independent, but you never experience the women's personality.  The DVF women is a risk taker with her smokey blue eye shadow and curly, bouncy hair. No matter what you wear on your back make sure it refelects your personality. Can't wait to see what DVF has in store for the future.

May Favorites

1.)  The Last Five Years musical.  I have been loving it for months.  The movie adaptation came out a few months ago and it is so amazing,  Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan are the le
ad roles. Kendrick plays Cathy a struggling actress who at a young age fell in love with Jamie played by Kendrick,  The musical takes you on a journey through the young married couples life in a way that is so beautiful and artistic.

2) I have been needing some new nail polishes my favorite is Mint Candy Apple from Essie.  I absolutely adore Essie shades and the formulas are perfect.  Mint Candy Apple is a beautiful green-blue pastel color. Love it for the summer months.

3) Vogue in general has been a big fashion favorite.  Not necessarily a monthly favorite however this month I have gained a huge appreciation for the company. I seriously recommend The September Issue documentary if you look forward to a career in the fashion industry.  Vogue has always been a company that has represented grace and class to the fashion industry.

This month was lacking a lot of favorites because I haven't tried out a lot of things.  Also I have been gone for too long because school and truthfully I haven't had a lot of motivation.  However I'm excited to start this up again, because as summer comes so does the gorgeous fashion and beauty,

Being Strong

Strength isn't measured by the way a person looks.  Weather you have muscles or not. Being in love with fashion and having an interest in one day being apart of it has taught me a lot about being strong, independent, and not giving a crap about what people think.  I bring it up so many times but sports were never my thing.  As I got older and realized fashion is a huge billion dollar industry surrounded by jobs, people, creativity, and stories I was hooked.  My personality is girly yes I get excited over sparkles, Louboutin's, and has an obsession with make up organization. When people learn this about me figure I'm weak.  BEING IN LOVE WITH FASHION DOES NOT MAKE A PERSON WEAK! In fact it makes them stronger.  In this months US Vogue Serena Williams is the cover girl. The amazing tennis champion inspired me to write this post. Serena Williams the tennis star is on a fashion magazine. I personally feel that people that do sports are afraid of fashion and they think looking cute is a disgrace and what they have been working for is looking tough.  Being strong doesn't mean you can't look cute it means that you aren't afraid of being yourself, unique, creative, independent, smart, and kind.

March Favorites

Yes it is the end of the month once again and this past month I have just been so incredibly bad with blogging.  In that case I thought it would be nice to put up a monthly favorite. I haven't had too many favorites, but lets get started.

1) You all know how much I adore Rimmel products. Probably my favorite products at the drugstore. Anyway I have been loving my Match Perfection foundation in the color 101 Classic Ivory. Its a light but build-able coverage, and since my acne isn't as bad it covers my red undertones well.  I like the glass packaging it is so satisfying to hold.  The only problem with this foundation is it isn't too long lasting so about mid day you will probably have to do a few touch ups.

2) The second thing I have been loving is my Real Techniques Expert Face brush. This brush is in my opinion so amazing.  Its a dense brush but I actully really like it. Also it is soft and really works the foundation into my skin.  I am totally going to save up for the Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection.

3) This next favorite is a bit of a random favorite.  My really good friend Holly just bought me the most perfect book called " The Dress" by Megan Hess.  Its about designers and fashion icons.  Its the perfect coffee table book and full of sketches and designs.  Thank you Holly!

4) Lastly,  I just learned to put on the perfect Cat Flick with liquid liner.  Now this is a new favorite however now I am completely obsessed.  I watch a tutorial from Charlotte Tilbury she used a pencil eye liner, but it really works for liquid eye liner.  The liquid eye liner I use is the Chanel liner 10.

Worn out?

Everyone loves a new pair of shoes. The shopping for shoes.  Running isle through isle. Shoes are an important choice to make.  They show people how you see the world.  If you walk through life in a pair of high heeled, black, patent leather beauties it says you are confident and your strong.  However an old worn out pair of combat boots can mean a lot more than just the obvious.  It doesn't just say you've just been too lazy to buy a new pair.  They represent a different type of strong and confident person that the high heeled shoes.  This type of person isn't afraid to show off there journey and where they have been.  You're gonna meet new people and create new stories.  Even though we don't like to talk about our past, our shoes do. Don't feel insecure about your ratty old shoes. Be proud that they are still there remembering the memories.

Carolina Herrera

The blue gown reminds me of a dream. Its wavy and relaxed. The material looks softer than blankets. Dreamlike. Simple but elegant. It makes sense and at the same time a mystery.  Fashion is like a mixed up language that only the creative ones understand.  They understand the dream within the clothes. The creative ones understand that dreams will never be reality, but when we wake up fashion can describe the dream in a secret code. Im proud to understand the code. Its different and unique. Carolina Herrera describes this perfectly through just a simple dress.
